Strongers . left this review about The Turnpike
The Turnpike is a Brewer’s Fayre pub that acts as the dining area for the adjoining Premier Inn to the right. The large L shaped interior houses a small bar area in the right hand side and the rest of the pub is taken over by dining guests and young local families who take advantage of the low prices. In the far left of the building is a soft play centre for young children. Standard keg products and San Miguel were available from the bar and there is no real ale here.
Picnic tables line the front of the pub where a large car park is found. There is also an outside children’s play area. This place is handy for a quick pint if staying at the hotel, but I wouldn’t visit here any other time.
