This pub dates from at least the mid-19th century though the lovely olive-green Trumans faience tiling is probably turn of the century, the former Trumans lanterns recently removed. Or more likely fell off.
It’s very scruffy looking, with occluded glass or other panes covered with goodness knows what from the inside, making even a cursory inspection impossible. Even if I’d wanted to go in, I couldn’t have, as there was a mobility scooter blocking the entrance; tuneless karaoke leaked into the night at the time of my Friday 9.40pm visit; Alan’s right when he says he can’t see any other reviewers wanting to visit this pub. Over to you, Strongers.

Alan's vain attempt in his last sentence to put me off didn't work I'm afraid. He obviously wants to keep it for himself! When I was in the pool table at the back was covered with hallowe'en tat, waiting to be consigned to its grave somewhere in the bowels of the pub ready to be resurrected for next year's festivities.
Still no real ale of course. The external Truman's signage and green tiling is the pub's best feature. Inside it has black sofas around the sides, rough old floorboards, red drapes covering most of the windows and the doors, and with the (frosted?) lower parts of the windows it's a pub of mystery until you take your courage in both hands (mixed metaphor?) and push open the door to reveal what's inside. In fact it's better than I expected, but very quiet with only three other punters propping up the bar when I was in on Monday afternoon. It's a basic locals' boozer, and I really hope it survives.

The Nags Head is a standard looking pub that is on the main road from Camberwell to Walworth, the pub still has its old Trumans signage outside which is nice to see.
Once inside there is a single oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, the bar is on the left side, the room is bare boarded with the seating being low backed leather bench seating around the edge of the room, there is a pool table to the rear.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths Extra Cold Crap which was a really bad drink,i think i would have prefered to drink the keg Ben Trumans beer that this pub had years ago,it must have been better than the crap i drank here.
The background music matched the beer,it was crap.
These sort of pubs are probably best left for me to visit,i car'nt see any other reviewers wanting to do this pub.
