Modern single-room plub, like the Glen and Bay in Aberystwyth used to be. Heaving on my brief visit with the rear dancefloor (which usually hosts a couple of dartboards) in full swing. No ale so a half of Guinness did for me. If you want to pull a local lassie on a Saturday night this is the place to be.

With Tuborg and Carlsberg lagers both selling at only £1.99 a pint from Mondays to Thursdays, this was understandably very busy on the Thursday night of my visit. The customers appeared to be mainly young locals rather than tourists. The bar consists of a single long wooden floored room, with a pool table in an area at the back. There is a Poker League on Wednesdays, Karaoke on Sundays and DJs on Fridays and Saturdays. In addition to the cheap weekday beers, Belhaven Best, Guinness, Tennent's and San Miguel lagers and Strongbow and Somersby ciders are also available on draught at more normal prices.

I worked in Fort William in charge of renovating the railway station and had accommodation in the main st over 'Woolies' & I spent most of my leasure time in this pub, the staff were so friendly and the local musicians gave a lot of great listening. I noticed people from all over the world enjoying this place, plus there's a great 'chippy' next door.
