Laminate floored throughout, the Wheatsheaf has well-spaced-out tables with chairs, and a sofa, across the front to a tiled fireplace under a large television that was airing snooker on the left-hand wall. The L-shaped serving counter faces standing room to the right as it runs up to another muted television on the rear wall of this central bar area. Beyond, a ramp leads to the rear half of the pub where there’s a mix of seating in amongst two pool tables, a dartboard and three more televisions, all of which throughout were muted while some background music played. This is a modern pub with only standard and premium draught because the two hand pumps were unused, but the governor was very friendly and I enjoyed the non-modern music, so this pub makes the list as somewhere in the area to watch sport.
