Visited late October, Tuesday lunchtime
Pub as described below, I entered into the lounge area, but because it was nearly full, with all tables occupied by diners, I went through into the "Public"
Pool table in use by four older gents having a quite game, a family group eating and one local sat at bar
I had a pint of 49er, bit suprised at price, could have been pulled down south, but it was OK
The family group polished off the meal, said it was good, the local had ordered food as well, so I presume food is fine
I found the general atmosphere friendly, and seemed like a normal unpretentious pub. Not a destination pub, but if you were shopping then I guess this would do for a quick pint or a pub lunch

Called in here on our way to The Angel as we had heard that it had improved in the past couple of years. It's certainly been refurbished and everywhere looks neat and clean. The left hand side room has a pool table and is more of a tap room. The right hand side room is the lounge and has a mix of comfy bench seats and standard table and chairs. A very mixed bunch in this room. A couple of regulars, a woman with a large suitcase and a bunch of noisy holiday makers who were loudly discussing what they were going to sing at a karaoke pub on the seafront later. Two handpumps on the bar Ringwood Best Bitter and Fortyniner. I had a pint of the Fortyniner which was OK but a little tired. It's definitely an improvement, but I don't think it will be one of our regular haunts.

Found this a really decent place, which is pretty hard in Scarborough to be honest, the only disappointment being that the Jennings wasn't on, so had to have Banks's, which at least is a good back-up for a Midlander, when there isnt any MILD in the town!
I didnt take the wife!
