A wholly unwelcoming and unenjoyable chain bar laid out as described by Blackthorn, below. It was empty when we first entered, until it started filling with screaming, screeching drunk females. The main fare was cocktails, while the ‘food’ described on the menus appeared to be 63 different flavours of warm lard disguised as junk food. Keg Stella and bottled lager were available but these were wholly unenjoyable. We shan’t be back.

Much more of a cocktail type venue than your traditional pub, it’s no doubt popular with a younger crowd and there was a hen party having a cocktail making masterclass on our recent Saturday afternoon visit. That said, many of the tables were laid up for food which struck me as surprising, although nobody was actually eating on this occasion.
Internally it’s all one open plan room with high ceilings and large windows all along the front. The terrace at the front of the pub is no doubt a pleasant enough spot in the warmer weather in a part of town where outside seating is at a premium. Décor wise it’s all a bit of a mismatch with sanded wooden boards on the floor, some black and white chequered tiling around the bar and a black painted ceiling although the air conditioning ducting and so on had been painted contrasting red, presumably to try and make it something of a feature. Walls were a mixture of bare concrete and fake looking wood panelling and a number of glitter balls, speakers and disco style lights were dotted around, suggesting that it may get somewhat livelier and noisier later on.
Unfortunately there were no real ales on tap, just keg Gem from Bath Ales. Cider selection was equally poor with Magners and Aspall’s Suffolk, although at the least the friendly barman agreed with me that the ale and cider choice was particularly poor. On the other hand, if flavoured vodkas are more your thing this is clearly the place to come, with the available options including tiramisu, salted caramel and popcorn, birthday cake or peanut butter and jelly. Something for everyone there, I’m sure.
