Another popular venue on the Brighton seafront with a sun trap outside terrace. ok a bit too strong sun late afternoon and so I sat inside at the bar on the high stools along the long bar on the left hand wall of the venue. No sooner than I got inside the heavens opened and the few souls outside enjoying a quiet Monday afternoon quaff quickly retreated inside as well. The inside is quite interesting with it being set up to look quite cave like, not any cave though, pleasant textured whitewashed walls type of cave!
Think this is another Laine brewery venue as they had Sonar and Mangolicious on (definitely the former for me). Not much else really, Moretti, Guinness and two ciders (Orchard Thieves providing the authentic apple experience and a red berries flavoured one from Old Mount).
A different vibe in Brighton in this part of (early) summer compared to weekends and all the hen and stag parties. Whilst I found quiet solace inside in the near neighbour Fortune of War yesterday, its outside terrace was rammed but today hardly a presence (even before the rain arrived). These beachfront bars to a roaring trade but not really my thing.

Arc has been renamed Life and is a Jamaican themed bar with seating on Brighton beach. There was some loud reggae music playing during my recent Saturday afternoon visit and some upcoming music events were advertised on an A board outside. Standard draught products are available from the bar. To the right of the bar is some seating and access to the toilets. This is where some curtained off steps are that I imagine descend into some sort of club area.
This is a decent enough spot for a few beers on a summer’s afternoon.
