Date of visit: 2009.
I came here a few times with a friend in 2009 and found this to be a very pleasant backstreet pub, mainly for locals and bearded hipsters. Decent décor was traditional except to the rear, where the walls were pale t 'n' g panelled; here there was a football table.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Florence
Corner pub, located close to Upper Street but slightly hidden away behind a petrol station. Interesting, mostly brown, tiled exterior. 'L'-shaped bar with gastro-pub type decor and furniture, but with a proper pub atmosphere. Pool table and two sports TV screens. Only one of the three handpumps was working, but this thankfully produced a decent pint of Pride (£3.40).

The Florence is a decent corner pub that is very close to upper street but not visible from it.
This pub has got one room and it is still like pubs used to be like, there were three pumps on the bar but only one was in use on my visit i had a drink of Bass and this was a decent drink.

This place is just off the main drag meaning that the drunken masses that crawl along Upper Street don't venture in here so a decent pint can be had without being imposed upon. I found the barmaid to be extremely friendly and she poured a good pint of Guinness. Adnams, Bass and Pride were also available during my visit alongside a standard draught selection and San Miguel.
The décor is a bit bland, but there are a couple of flat screen TVs and the pub shows Sky Sports.
My only couple of complaints would be that the background music sounded like someone had turned on a portable radio in the far corner of the pub and there were a few too many fruit flies buzzing around my pint for my liking.
This place is advertised outside as a proper pub and I would agree that it is and I would go back again if in the area.
