Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Northern Way
The former O'Neill's has been given something of makeover, although the inside doesn't look as modern as the exterior paintwork might suggest. There is a small lounge area at the front (with what once have been called a snug off to the side), the main bar area in the centre and a further, slightly raised seating (with a pool table) at the back. Curious mixture of decorative features (including a "This is a food-free zone" sign by the front door) and several sports TVs. I found three of the four handpumps in use, unusually with a pair of ciders (Rosie's Pig and Lilley's Mango) plus White Witch from Moorhouse's (fine value at £3.00).

formerly O'Neills and then briefly Shenanigans, this has now been taken over by Amber Taverns and extensively remodelled as one of their faux Victorian barns. it doesn't feel as TV heavy as some of their pubs and does have some nice snug areas to sit in relative peace. three real ales on, which were two from Bank Top and Hobgoblin. asked for a half but got a pint, who's complaining at £2.30 a pint? a huge improvement on what it used to be here.

Not the greatest place to go in but if you know your O'Neils franchise you'll know what to expect. If you don't know your O'Neils franchise then good on ya. As its near student town its popular with that lot. As for the Irish lot I don't know. I couldn't see any real ale but there may well be some hidden.

An Irish pub with decent beer and plenty of character. A bit out of the way but well worth a visit.
