This public house has been popular since Adam was a lad. It has evolved over many years into a pub with a large restaurant that can in several rooms, one non smoking, seat over 150, but it manages to keep a pleasant ambience throughout. The Menu and Specials Board offer a wide choice of food that’s nicely made and presented and is served by welcoming and helpful staff.
Children are well catered for with their own outdoor play area and Menu, though not welcome in the bar. There is Wheelchair access and Disabled Toilets. All other amenities are exceptionally clean and tidy.

A lovely country pub, building dates back to 1645, with beamed ceilings and many original features.
This is a Thwaites pub. Food Served Wednesday-Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Specials board, vegetarian options, good choice of fish dishes. Good reasonably priced food. Service is friendly and efficient. We visited on a very busy Friday lunchtime and did not wait long for our food.
Children aren’t allowed in the bar, there is a separate family dining area and a children’s menu, also a no-smoking room.
Accessible entrance at the side. Accessible toilets, clean & well maintained
If weather permits, outdoor dining area.
