Blue Scrumpy left this review about The White Swan

Now renamed as The Duck, this is a basic locals pub on the main one-way shopping street through Crook.

I arrived to find just 3 other customers. One old couple had arrived just before me, but there was no sign of the barmaid for a few minutes. She appeared to be in the cellar with another guy who appeared to be attempting to fix something.

The pub is one long and narrow room with the bar on the right-hand side. There are TVs on opposite walls showing different horse racing, with another to the rear which was switched off. There is a rather messy DJ booth just on the same side just beyond the bar with a further TV above it. Beyond that, there is a jukebox and a pool table. At the rear, there is an outdoor area.

Cask ale has not been available here for some time and the handpulls have been removed. The best keg options were John Smith's Extra Smooth or Forged Irish Stout. Ciders were Inch's & Strongbow Dark Fruit.
