Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bleeding Heart Tavern
Describing itself as a 'restaurant, bistro and tavern', the street level bar was not laid up as a dining room when I visited late one afternoon. Fairly crammed with surprisingly plain wooden tables, and rather sparsely decorated, but it had a reasonably traditional pub-like appearance. Downstairs, though, is very different, with several swish dining rooms. Two Adams beers from a bank of four handpumps: Mosaic Pale Ale and the seasonal Nut Brown (£4.80). Ease Up IPA and Dry Hopped Lager also noted on the keg taps.

This place may have changed since the last reviews as I wouldn't call it a restaurant - that said, I wouldn't call it a boozer either.
The interior is small and slightly raised with a side bar, thereafter it's downstairs to the basement restaurant and kazis. Walls are bare brick, the floor is boarded and furniture is traditional; ugly ventilation ducts are on display. The French(?) bar staff were uniformed and efficient enough.
Two vacant pumps sat next to Adnam's Broadside (£3.90 a pint) which was fine.
Perhaps this place has improved since 2009/10 but either way it's a bit soulless and humdrum; I can't see myself coming here again, but it's better than the One Tun around the corner.

Steve was right to leave, this is not a pub, it's a gastro restaurant. Yes it calls itself a Tavern and has 4 handpumps on the bar, but it's all window dressing to get you in to eat the expensive nosh.
Not a place for just a pint.

Strongers . left this review about The Bleeding Heart Tavern
I walked up the steps to the bar and the only drinks available were Adnams and Bitburger, not that there was anyone to serve me. I looked around at the people sitting at the tables and they were all dining so I decided that I wouldn't feel very comfortable staying just to drink so I left.
