Tris C left this review about Chiswell Street Dining Rooms
Formerly the St. Paul's Tavern, this is now more of a style bar with restaurant running along the length of Chiswell Street.
There's a boarded floor, halogen downlighters and a pale grey colour scheme. Tables are circular, low and metal topped, leatherette and chrome stools to the bar, leatherette pouffes and low drum chairs. The 'washrooms' are upstairs and though undeniably swish, I could see neither hide nor hair of a shower let alone a bath. I think that this description may be aimed at Americans as there were three, unimaginably loud, at the bar who comprehensively outgunned the muted music; upstairs is what seems to be a private dining room.
The barman in a waistcoat and bow tie presided over a chrome fount dispensing Guinness, Amstel and OK IPA at £3.00 a half which actually wasn't too bad once it had warmed up.
This is certainly no longer a pub and along with the high prices and lack of real ale, I shan't be returning.
This is a place for bankers.
