Will Larter left this review about Noah's Ark
The Noah's Ark has a smart bar in dark wood with an impressive bar back and an even more impressive array of nine hand pumps in three banks. Sadly, this is not indicative of the range of ales on offer (of which more later), but simply an indication of the former arrangement of the rooms, now knocked through into one.
Most of the pub is carpeted, but to the right there is an area of parquet flooring where there is a pool table. In this part of the pub the plaster has been hacked off, leaving bare brick walls which are adorned with a collection of framed photos of Grand Prix cars from the 1950s and illustrations of the early days of motor racing, before the 1st World War. Also in this area is the cellar trap door - it looks like they must bring barrels up the steps and in through the double doors seen to the right in my photo: a most unusual arrangement.
The room to the left of the bar is smarter, with more conventional pub pictures. Bench seating lines the walls throughout, upholstered in smart and rather old-fashioned fabric. I rather liked it here, though it was very quiet.
The two hand pumps available were serving Copper Dragon Best and Bradfield Farmers Blonde, and there were no previously used pump clips to suggest that other beers are available from time to time. However, definitely one to include if you're contemplating a Crookes crawl.
