Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Monument

Large modern bar with bland corporate furniture and décor, rather mis-marketed by Greene King as a 'traditional pub'. Having said that, it is used to be one of the better places for cask ale in the immediate area, although just IPA and Old Speckled Hen (£6.20) were available on this first revisit for ten years.

Large Greene King pub. 3 beers on when I called. I went for one from the recent Platinum Jubilee which was fine. Handy pub for Bank and Monument tube stations.

Strongers . left this review about The Hogshead Monument

This was one of the quieter pubs on my travels around the area, but it still took me a while to be served. One ale was off, but Sunchaser, Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen were available alongside Peroni and a selection of standard draught.

It's a good sized pub and there were some decent old songs playing, which made a change from the Karaoke that other pubs in the area seemed to be hosting. There are a couple of plasma screens which show Sky Sports, but these were off as there was no sport on.

This place is nothing special, but I would have no problem with popping back in if passing.
