Visited 14/11/24. Visited previously as Clubhouse 5 on 03/07/23 and prior to that as a branch of Slug & Lettuce on date unrecorded!
No cask. Keg offering comprising lagers (Heineken, Peroni, Camden Hells, Amstel, Jubel Peach, Asahi, Moretti and the increasingly sighted Moretti Sale di Mare), Guinness, Inch's cider and Neck Oil, Brixton Reliance pale ale, Beavertown Lunar Haze and Signature Brew Roadie.
Still remains a predominately sports bar, boarded throughout with a tiled floor in front of the tiled fronted bar servery against the rear wall on the right-hand side of the venue immediately inside the entrance. As you would expect plenty of above head high screens including a line above the bar counter so no excuses for not getting the beers in at a crucial point in the game! Tall tables and tall stools opposite the bar servery area and along that wall before venue opens-up on left-hand side of ground floor with plenty of comfy seating options including what looks like a pristine pale red banquette opposite the much larger screen. Similar bar upstairs and no downstairs bar these days it seems. Not a bad option for catching live sport in the Leicester Square area, particularly if routine keg beer is your thing!

No real ale - occupied mainly by diners. Standard keg offerings.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Slug & Lettuce
A long, long time ago - at the start of it's days as a Hogshead - this place was actually not a bad option for some real ale. However, things went downhill pretty quickly as it became a rather unpleasant tourist / sports pub. Matters improved briefly (apart from the prices) when it was refurbished and re-named the Crooked Surgeon, but it quickly reverted to type. Now, as a Slug & Lettuce, it does at least have the benefit of just being deeply dull. Most of the ground floor is now a 'L'-shaped restaurant area, but there are still a few stools / tables and a large screen in the bar area. There used to be a second bar upstairs, but it looks like this is now just an overflow dining area. Currently has two handpumps, featuring Pride (£3.45) and Greene King IPA (off). PS - It is housed in quite an interesting building when viewed from Leicester Street.
