The Tykes is set sideways onto the busy Sheffield Road and is just off the town centre.
Once inside there is an irregular shaped room which is bare boarded,the bar is on the left side,there is bench seating and chairs to the front and a pool table in the rear area.
There are no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths Smooth Crap,which lived up to its name.
There was some decent background music playing and the pub was reasonably busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
I thought this was a decent and comfortable pub to have a drink in,just a shame there was not one real ale on.
