Much better on the inside than it looks from outside. It's been opened out into one room, but there's still a pool table and a big TV screen in the area that may well have been the tap room in the past. A nicely decorated lounge area to the left with brass plates with ships on them, nautical lights and lighthouses. 3 handpumps on the bar serving Unicorn, Trooper and Cumbria Way. The Unicorn was in good nick. It's a pleasant enough pub. No idea why it's called The Anchor when it's so far inland though.

A single roomed pub but set out with about 3 areas to sit in, one of which has a pool table. Two handpumps dispense Unicorn and Hartley's XB today. As you would expect it has a nautical theme with assorted shippy pictures and adornings. Its alright but not great.
