A 16th Century village pub with limited opening hours. It's down a narrow back street which makes parking problematic, and there is no garden as such, just a small enclosed yard at the rear, though there are one or two seats at the front for al fresco drinkers. Inside there is a single parquet-floored bar formed from conjoined rooms. Exposed beams are adorned with a collection of jugs and mugs. There is a large dining area at the back which looks like ti might have been a skittle alley. It's very much a locals' pub, unlike many other pubs in the area, and the atmosphere reflects that. There s no WiFi as they want people to chat, although there is a large TV screen at one end along with two dart boards. Four hand pumps were dispensing Rosie's Pig, Tribute, Bay's Tracker and Pedigree, while on keg were ABK Hell, Guinness, Madri and Thatcher's Haze. Well worth a visit if you are then when it's opening.
