Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Anchor
Looks like a traditional High Street village pub from the outside, but now an upmarket restaurant with some general seating in the bar area and another small area by the front entrance. Remodelled and refurbished in light semi-modern style with rather sparse furniture in the various partly opened-out rooms. No cask ale; just two of four keg taps offering Titsey's Innes Lager and Rebellion IPA (£3.75, half).

Old Blue left this review about The Anchor
This rather interesting looking old pub advertises that it serves Thai food. The entrance on the left leads into a restaurant room and the central entrance into the pub areas. There are a number of rooms of varying sizes making up the pub areas, some of them quite snug, and a small yard/garden area to the rear. A pub which ought to have a lot of character.
Things started going wrong when we discovered no Thai food was available when we were in at around 1pm this Saturday, just a very few 'English menu' items. There was also no real ale available from any of the three handpumps, the keg cider I ordered instead was unavailable and I ended up with a bottle, and my companion was kindly given a small amount of orange juice free on the basis that they did not have enough orange juice to supply the glassful she had ordered.
The Thai staff were pleasant and trying to be helpful, but my strong impression was this endeavour is run by people who have no idea what a pub is for, and ought to have teamed up with someone who does.
Given that it spectacularly failed to serve us, not just anything we actually wanted, but not even anything it was meant to have available and that we ordered, I don't think I can justify a rating of more than 1, which simply recognises that it is, technically, still a pub. A shame because this could be a really good place.
