Nick Davies left this review about The Horseshoe
A 1930s roadhouse which has long lived under the shadow of the White Lion next door. Thanks to the efforts of M&B the White Lion isn't what it was and the two now compete on more equal terms.
Remarkably, the front bar of the Horseshoe is largely unsullied by progress and retains some original features, although there have been many additions and alterations all around.
It fancies itself on the food front and likes sponsoring advertorial pieces in the local rags, and its main function is to serve roast dinners to those who fancy a spin out from Croydon in the company Astra.
On the beer front, a nice pint of Harvey's last time we called.
Stop for a quick one if you're passing.
Punch Taverns, lease up for sale so may change.
