Nick Davies left this review about The Bull Inn
Situated in a strange semi-rural stretch of green belt which has alas been infringed upon by piecemeal development over the years, the Bull would have been built to serve the staff of the old Warlingham Park Hospital, one of a row of such mental institutions built along the ridge of the North Downs. The hospital site has now become a gated housing estate though I doubt the pub will appeal to many of the residents. For some reason the scruffier pubs on the edge of the metropolis, and there are many of them, have a magnetic appeal to the white van fraternity. So what could be a pretty decent pub, and a magnet for the many walkers and cyclists as well as the well heeled local residents is sadly crummy and down market. However judging by a new carpet and some newish looking furniture maybe someone is getting to grips with it.
I don't know the ownership of the pub, it was Charrington's years ago: judging by the OKish Doom Bar and GKIPA on the pumps it'll be a big pubco.
There are quite a few pubs around here, you can do a nice ramble over the fields to include several of them. However since the wanton desecration of the White Lion none of them are much cop I'm afraid; this one is yet another.
