This is a typical locals village pub, the main bar area is to the front of the building basically furnished with some fox hunting themed pictures on the walls as a nod to the pubs name along with a scattering of horse brasses. There is a pool table tucked away around a corner. Two pumps on the bar with only one in use dispensing a so so Young's Bitter. There is a rear function/restraunt room to the rear but there was no sign of any food activity going on , on a mid week lunchtime. It was a friendly enough place with two or three locals present but nothing going on to get excited about.

This one has had its ups and downs over the years, with a misguided attempt at turning it into an upmarket restaurant/wine bar complete with the usual gastro affectations after a period as a rough white-van brigade meeting point. It is now reasonably pubby again, exposed beams and a log fire at the front, through to a dining area further back. Kids play area out the back and B&B accommodation upstairs. Routine Young's ordinary and Doombar rather surprisingly accompanied by Lee's John Willie's at £2.00 a pint, and very nice it was too. Not the best pub in Walton but worth a look if you are in the area.
