Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Guinea
Good-sized L-shaped pub with quite a dark interior away from the front windows. Also has some part-covered outdoor seating on the side alleyway linking with the rear courtyard garden. Long Man Best Bitter and the Scarecrow session IPA from Pig & Porter (£5.00) from the pair of handpumps. Also has some local craft beers from these and other breweries such as Lakedown and Only With Love on the keg taps. Overall, better than when I last visited (as the Guinea Butt) in the Greene King days.

A rather spacious pub with more of a restaurant vibe than that of a pub, seems to be still operating a table service system as I was soon ushered away from the bar as I aproached to inspect the four handpumps, beers on offer were Long Man Rising Giant, Langham Best and Old Dairy Blue Top, the Blue top wasn't in particularly good shape so I didn't linger long and left not suprised I was the only customer there during my brief stay.

The Guinea Butt is a large L shaped pub and in comparison to the other pubs in the area it was quite busy on the recent Wednesday afternoon I visited. Along with San Miguel a standard draught selection was available from the friendly bar staff and the three hand pumps were drawing Greene King IPA, Abbot and Roosters Yankee. Food is served and the mains range from about £5.50 to £7.50. I was going to plump for the Yankee, but went for a lager instead as the stench of vinegar from the food put me off the ale. I didn’t spot any TVs, but there was some low music playing in the background. Music and Djs are advertised for Friday and Saturday nights and on Sunday evenings there are open mic sessions. Also, there is a quiz advertised for every Wednesday evening.
There is some covered outside seating to the left of the pub and a beer garden to the rear.
I’d have no problem returning here if passing.
