Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Poacher & Partridge
Owned by the small Elite chain of upmarket dining pubs, describing itself as a 'Country Pub & Dining' establishment so you'll have a good idea what to expect (and this one fits the bill exactly - for better or worse, depending on your take on such places). The original building houses the bar and has a slightly raised seating area in a window bay and the compact Covey dining room at one end. However, the main restaurant is now housed in a large extension on one end, with a converted barn-like appearance and a fully glazed frontage. Tastefully furnished and decorated throughout. Just two of the four handpumps in use on this visit, as trade rebuilds with the coronavirus restrictions being eased, with Doom Bar and (thankfully) Trigger from the local Musket Brewery (£4.60). Mind you, as a food-led pub, they seemed to be doing very good business on a Sunday lunchtime, so things must be looking up.
