Old Boots left this review about The Lambton
A very big corner pub and hotel even sporting a crenellated tower over the main doorway which was pretty busy even at 12:15 on a Wednesday. The main door leads into a long lounge area with a pool table, leading off to the right is a narrower section with the counter on the left and ample seating in various formats in the centre and right by the front of the pub. At the far end is another lounge, the mirror image of the one at the other end. The long counter is equipped with three T-bars serving nothing to get excited about. There are three pulls in the middle but only one with a clip, a reversed Wainwright Gold. Plenty of screens and machines with piped music. There’s a front patio with seating outside on the main street. It’s a fine old building still retaining a few original features.

A large three roomed pub, which is modern in décor and quite soulless. There were four chrome handpumps, all of which were unclipped.
