Drake Manor Inn, Yelverton

3-room village pub with a bar and small side room to the left and a snug to the right. Further seating is available in a suntrap garden across the lane. The snug has exposed stone walls and carpet. The bar has a shiny laminate floor (perhaps not normally shiny, as it was still wet after being cleaned and wouldn't dry with the humidity). The bar also has a fireplace with a wood burner and a dartboard.

Dartmoor Jail Ale & St Austell Tribute are the 2 regular cask ales. The guest was Otter Wotter Shot. The cider was Sandford Orchards Devon Mist and Otter Black was available on keg. Food is served, including Sunday lunches. Entertainment occurs fairly regularly, such as a local jazz group performing in July. A wifi code is readily available and the pub also has an apartment if you want to stay. Toilets are outdoors at the rear.

My Wotter Shot was acceptable, as you would expect from a Good Beer Guide entry but at 3.2%, it was nothing to write home about. The welcome appeared to be a little frosty. Perhaps I didn't fit into the usual type of clientele visiting the pub because I wasn't eating?
