Malden man left this review about The Old Bulls Head
This is a 17th century timber framed pub with very low beamed ceilings, wonky walls and floors, proper fireplaces each end. The bar is on the back wall, there are various old tales and inscriptions on the walls including a 1691 map of the town. A partially separated area to one end behind a screen is marked as "snug corner". The floor is mostly boarded with one area quarry tiled, a clear delineation in the line of the wooden floor towards the front leads me to believe that the front elevation of this Grade II listed building may at some time have been rebuilt. Seating is generally at wooden benches and settles, there certainly is no scope for high tables here!
Four handpumps, two in use serving Joule's Pale Ale and Slumbering Monk. The Pale Ale was top notch (£2.40). I didn't spot any menus or indications that food is served but I can't be 100% on that.
The pub certainly looks the part, plus there were a few local characters in; I enjoyed my half hour in here.
