A classic and rather nice village pub, much extended but it retains buckets of character especially in the small bar at the front right of the pub, there’s another bar at the back and rooms off to the side. Front bar has six pulls but a very ordinary selection, Wherry, Pedigree and Broadside, there was Moon Gazer Jigfoot as a guest. The Jigfoot was excellent. The back bar has three pulls with duplicates of the front bar main beers, the beers are listed on a blackboard next to the counter. There’s the normal keg stuff on 8 or so taps. Mainly traditional furnishings of banquettes, cast iron based tables and stools. Decor equally traditional with brasses, fishing rods, golf clubs, country pursuits pictures and old photos. No dining in the bars; it’s relegated to a fancy large multi space restaurant at the back. There’s also a big garden to one side, car park to the other.
