Older style Spoons on the High Street, with another exit to the rear of the pub. Dark wood, magnolia walls, some booths. While not awful, it feels a bit tatty. It was pretty quiet for a midweek lunchtime when I visited back in August, especially considering it was school holidays and slap bang in the town centre.
At the bar were three guest ales plus the usual trio.
Disabled bogs are downstairs near the front entrance; I didn't clock the location of the regular bogs but I guess they must be somewhere towards the rear. Sadly I can't report if hiking boots are required to visit the facilities.
Not somewhere I'd likely to be drawn back to, but as I say, not terrible.

The Full Moon is a long and thin Wetherspoons with standard seating at the front and rear and high tables in the bar area mid-way along. There are two banks of six hand pumps that were drawing the usual suspects plus Silhill Brewery’s Hop Star and Gold Star, both of which were pretty good. The service was friendly, but it was very quiet during a recent Wednesday evening visit. The pub decor is very ‘town centre Spoons’ but I thought it was OK and would return.

Almost 9 years since my last visit to this town centre 'spoon's, I returned. Little has changed. This is a long, single room with a small section on a slightly lower level to the rear (assuming you entered from the High Street), as there are doors at the far end onto King Street.
The typical Wetherspoon's clientele are here, from groups of young girls on pitchers of cocktails to older men who seem to enjoy stronger strength beers or ciders. As such, the ABVs were on the high side.
Sharp's Doom Bar & Greene King Abbot are the regular beers. Also on was the Greene King IPA and a couple of beers from Byatt's (Regal Blond) & Dockyard Strong Porter. Their XK Dark was clipped, but the barman wasn't sure whether it was on or not. I think it had been pulled through by the time I left. Boxed ciders in the fridge seemed to be popular. These were Old Rosie & Black Dragon.

Old-school 'spoons in a rather gloomy, elongated shop unit spanning back to King Street with a small frontage at each end. The dark furniture and carpet, and low-level lighting don't help much either. On the beer front, Adnams Ghost Ship, Great Newsome's Frotheringham Best (£2.46), Old Hooky and Crowning Glory from Theakston supplemented the usual trio of Greene King IPA, Doom Bar and Abbot on the two banks of six handpumps.

A straightforward basic Spoons of the ‘long and narrow with a bar on the middle side’ variety. Whilst there’s not a huge amount of interest inside, it nonetheless is welcoming enough and is stuffed with a wide variety of comical Spoons Characters. Service was noticeably good over our three visits, staff being bright, cheery and switched-on. Our one drinking stop found an excellent (NBSS 4) pint of Titanic Cherry Dark, amongst several other genuine guests. Noted the next morning over breakfast that the Greg Davies-alike manager was having a cheeky sample of one of the ales – which might well explain the quality. Whilst it’s hardly a must visit based on the interior the ale and service mean it stands above many of its JDW peers.

A by-the-book Wethers. Long and thin with, depending on which way you enter, an extension to one side. 12 handpumps with all ales doubled up, which meant the usual crap plus 3 beers from Exmoor today (Fox, Stag and Beast). It doesn't seem to have the attraction of being any cheaper than the other pubs in the town centre. And apart from Ruddles you won't be paying less than £2.35, which is still not bad.

From outside this looks like it will be a smaller Spoons but inside the narrow room stretches back a long way. It's a bit drab and dark as a result but was doing a roaring trade on my Saturday lunchtime visit. The beer selection was not that great. Although there are twelve pumps four were unused and four took up the two usual GK beers. This left two Lymestone beers, Upham Punter and Jennings Cocker Hoop as an uninvited guest.
I went for the Upham Punter which was in good nick but at £2.15 not dramatically cheaper than the Batham's pubs. In fact, the Spoons in the affluent London suburbs of Chingford and Northwood Hills are cheaper than here.
The rather average beer selection and dark shop conversion let this place down for me.

Called in on our way to Dudley Beer Festival, and found it was a typical Wetherspoons. There were no new beers available for us, so we had O'Hanlon Stormstay. This former Department store has made it into the 2011 Good Beer Guide, but there are better Wetherspoons around.
The above was December 2010, and we went there on Tuesday to meet up with a couple for a wander round a few pubs in Dudley area. There were no new ales for us, and we chose Everard's Sleigh Bell and Black Hole Brewery Supernova. Condition ok.

Situated in the middle of the pedestrianised street, on the left hand side after getting off the No.74 bus. This is the longest and narrowest Spoons I've been in to date. One of the locals told us it used to be a former Debenhams store. There were eight ales on handpump, I went for the Jennings Crag Rat.

As Wetherspoons go, this wasn't so bad, they had a good selection of seasonal ales and the food was okay. We'd spent ages mapping out real ale hostelries for Dudley and totally overlooked all the Lloyds/Wetherspoons! I think there are four in Dudley. But what can you say about Wetherspoons? Some have a range of well kept ales, some don't bother at all, The thing I remember most about our short visit to eat here, was the length of the pub! Is that why the Christmas party in fancy dress needed their own key to the disabled loos because they couldnt manage the stagger to the rear of the pub?
