Through the entrance of the Wynnstay Arms is a split-level seating area to the right where a very sedate 21st birthday party was in progress. I hoped that they were all just waiting for the birthday girl or boy to arrive! To the left some stairs lead up to the bar area with bar counter on the rear wall that faces a pool table and booths that run across the front windows. More split level seating is found further left and televisions are located throughout. These were all off in favour of some background music late one recent midweek afternoon. Live football is advertised.
The bar supports standard keg alongside Birra Moretti and also six handpumps. Four were unused and Bank’s Amber and Pedigree were both off. This wasn’t the only pub I found in the area with no ale on when it looked like there normally should be so maybe there had been delivery problems. The food is cheap pub co grub, a double burger and chips is £8.35. Drink and meal deals are advertised. I found the service to be polite and the surroundings were comfortable. Yes it was dead, but I visited at a usually quiet time so I’d pop back in if passing.

Seems to have upped its game with a reduction in prices and an increase of real ales. That said, unfortunately 5 of the 6 handpumps had their clips reversed today with only Revisionist Salted Caramel being on. The reversed clips were a bit bland but at least the ales look like they're usually on. The pub is a large open plan place with the main part being up a few steps. The servery is also in the upper part.

Doesn't seem aware of the low prices on offer within 50 yards of here.

This recently reopened hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. The large room has a long curved bar and is set on three levels. It has a comfortable relaxing ambiance, designed for both eating and drinking. The three Real Ales from the Marstons range are, Pedigree, Ringwood Bitter, and Jennings Slap & Stickle.
