Strongers . left this review about Royal Victoria
The Royal Victoria is located over the railway bridge at the north end of the High Street. The main bar area is located at the front of the pub where there is seating, a pool table, a dartboard and a plasma screen. This screen was showing the Ashes via Sky Sports during my visits on both Friday and Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks ago. There is also a rear bar area that has another plasma screen that was showing league football on the Sunday afternoon I visited. This area is available for hire and I spotted some disco equipment on the back wall along with the remnants of a previous party. To the left of the pub is a thin paved beer garden with covered and uncovered seating.
The bar was stocked with a standard draught range and the three hand pumps were drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar, Joseph Holt’s bitter and Thwaites Wainwright. There is a large menu that consists of pub grub that is all priced under £7.
There is a late license until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
I found the staff to be friendly and there was a decent atmosphere even though it wasn’t busy on both of my visits. I would have no problem returning here for another few jars.
