Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Teesdale Hotel

Quite an impressive looking building on the main street through the small market town of Middleton. The interior is much more modern. The front bar is a long, thin room with stone walls and bare boards. The bar itself is painted in dark blue. A fireplace at the far end has blackboards above it listing various food options and a few punters were indeed eating.

The hotel reception is just to the side, with some large Ordnance Survey maps on the walls opposite it. A corridor then leads to what looks like another dining room. There are also a few seats outdoors on the pavement to the front.

The hotel features in the current Good Beer Guide. Black Sheep Best Bitter is the regular cask ale. 2 guests were Allendale Red Squirrel & Yard of Ale Look To The Stars. Brooklyn The Stonewall Inn IPA was another option on keg, with the cider being Weston's Vintage.

Middleton is prime walking country and I suspect most other customers (of which there were only a handful) were walkers. Maybe locals appear in the evening. I thought the pub's interior lacked any character. My beer was ok and it's probably the town's best option for cask ale but I can't really recommend it.
