Quiet roadside pub, high on the cliffs above the north Cornish coast.
Just 4 other customers were present during my visit. There was a family (parents and child) and another local guy with his dog.
Featuring in the 2022 Good Beer Guide, I was expecting a little more, but the ale range is limited to Skinner's Betty Stogs & Lushingtons & St Austell Tribute.
The bar area has limited seating. There is a pool table at one end. More seating can be found in an area seemingly used by diners, although no food was being served, to my knowledge. The interior was well furnished. My guess would be that the pub has had a bit of a refurb since the last review.
The staff were certainly friendly and it undoubtedly enjoys a nice location.

Roadside pub set up on the hills between Porthtowan and St Agnes with a holiday area sort of feel to it. Very much a lived-in, slightly tatty, friendly atmosphere to everything from the car park onwards. Inside there is a smallish bar counter set in a clutch of connected areas, including a conservatory, all liberally sprinkled with nautical and seaside knick-knacks. Draught ales are Betty Stogs, Tribute and Lushingtons with guests. Worth stopping off at.

Called in this 2011 Good Beer Guide pub, and made it as the kitchen was closing, but they were really good and let us have a meal even though the chef had tidied up in the kitchen. It was a good food menu with plenty to choose from and very tasty too. Chose the Skinners Cornish Knocker to drink with the meal and it was good. The pub is situated on the coastal 547 bus route that runs between St Ives and Newquay, just up the hill from Porthtowan.
