The Seven Oaks has bitten the dust. The whole building has been demolished and replaced with a block of flats.

From the outside, this resembles an English country pub and looks as if it might once have been a farmhouse. Inside, it's a fairly typical Scottish small town local, consisting of a bar, a lounge and a small beer garden at the side. The bar comprises a main seating area and a separate section containing a pool table. Carling, Tennents and Stella Artois lagers are available on draught, as are Belhaven Best, Guinness and Strongbow cider. There is also a hand pump, but with no real ale in it at the time of my visit. Prices were very reasonable, at £2.75 for a pint of Carling.
