I had my first taste of the new McEwan’s Red ale in here. It’s a mid-strength keg beer, quite similar to McEwan’s Export, which is no bad thing. It cost me £3 and Guinness, Caledonian Best, Tennent’s and Stella Artois lagers and Blackthorn cider are also on draught. Inexpensive meals are available, with All Day Breakfasts and a Sunday Carvery both priced at £4.99. The pub itself consists of one narrow rectangular room with the bar stretching almost the length of one side. There were two, competing TVs on, one showing football and the other a music channel.
