David Ross left this review about The Four Isles
This is a modern, brick built bar which is part of the neighbourhood shopping complex in the middle of the Petersburn housing scheme. The name refers to the street names in the surrounding scheme, which have a Scottish islands theme (apart from Varnsdorf Way!). I might, therefore, have expected to find photographs or maps of the islands decorating the walls here, but, disappointingly, there were none. The interior is wood panelled, with a raised area at the back containing a pool table and some additional seating. Tennents lager, Guinness, Caledonia Best and Strongbow and Magners ciders are all available on draught, at reasonable prices. The adjacent Glenburn Function Suite is also part of the pub, but there is no separate lounge. An ordinary and predictable scheme pub, whose customers, myself apart, seemed to be exclusively locals. The Four Isles also features one of the most unattractive outdoor smoking areas I've ever seen: the small, concreted rectangle enclosed by a high metal fence gives the distinct impression of being in prison. Not that I've ever been in prison, or smoked for that matter.
