Blackthorn _ left this review about The Mouse
A substantial looking brick built pub on the outskirts of Westbury village, the main draw here seems to be the terraced beer garden which has great views over the valley behind the pub and was a very popular spot on a recent sunny Saturday afternoon visit.
Internally the pub is fairly basic in appearance, with a large room to the right and a smaller one to the left. Flooring was wood throughout, with a mixture of parquet style or plain boards, whilst the ceilings were whitewashed and the walls painted either khaki green or a rather nondescript beige. A fireplace was down at one end with some Victorian style tiling around it, although all it contained was a selection of candles. A couple of shelves were on the wall next to this with a selection of books and a couple of old photographs, but there was little else of any note other than some old metal advertising boards. TV screens at either end of the pub were showing the football, although nobody seemed to be taking any notice.
Beers on tap were Butcombe Original and Tribute, with a third pump appearing unused. Ciders meanwhile were Thatcher’s Gold and Blackthorn.
