Blue Scrumpy left this review about Lochindaal Hotel

This is the locals' pub in Lochindaal. Although there were a few tourists in too on my Thursday evening visit. I'd originally walked the wrong way out of the Port Charlotte Hotel to search for this place. Having found the Lochindaal Seafood Restaurant closed up and in darkness, I assumed I was out of luck. Who would have thought there would be two establishments in the village of Port Charlotte with "Lochindaal" in the name.

After consulting the barman at the Port Charlotte, it became apparent that I'd tried a restaurant which was still closed for the winter. Albeit, it has the same owners as the Lochindaal Hotel.

There is a basic public bar with a stone floor, a couple of dartboards, a pool table, a jukebox near the entrance and some TVs showing international football. There is also a lounge/restaurant which I didn't explore.

Quite a few of the keg beer options on the bar were off but they did have Tennents, Stella, Guinness, Caledonia Best & Orchard Pig Reveller. A huge selection of whiskeys was also on offer.

Much busier than the Port Charlotte Hotel, locals and visitors seemed a friendly bunch and similar to the village's other hostelry, they were keen to engage in conversation. The barman was clearly not from these parts either.
