Blue Scrumpy left this review about Ceres Inn
With just time for one more pub in Scotland before heading to Aberdeen to catch a flight back south, we made it the Ceres Inn in the village of Ceres, which is currently blighted by road closures.
The welcome we received here couldn't have been more friendly. There were a group of people near the entrance with musical instruments. The landlady appeared to be one of them.
The barman also alternated between serving and playing with the group, whilst all of the locals were really friendly. We ended up chatting with nearly all of the staff and customers despite only being there for less than half an hour.
The atmosphere was extremely convivial and the pub reminded me of village locals on the west coast of Ireland. They endeavoured to play us a tune before we departed and encouraged us to return to visit them and to stay in the village at some point in the future.
Fyne Ales Jarl was the single real ale. But the real attraction of this pub is its friendliness and real community spirit. Whilst I normally favour pubs with the best beer or cider ranges or by its historic attraction, this one scores highly by virtue of its excellent welcome. Recommended.
