An amazing building with painted tiles depicting Leith scenes like Mary Stuart, horse racing on the beach and golf on the links. The left hand side is now a Polish restaurant, but it's part of the same original building as far as I can tell. The pub is a large, hall-like space, split by a screen halfway back, and with the island bar in the middle. Three hand pumps but only Orkney Island Life 3.7% (NBSS 3.5, £4.90/pint) available on a Tuesday evening. It might be worth coming back on a different day of the week, as this is a gorgeous pub, inside and out.

Ornate old style interior featuring tiled murals and a large circular island bar. Walking distance to the fitba at easter road. 2 real ale taps 1 on during my visit. Food served.
