Will Larter left this review about Ormelie Tavern

This is my day for visiting the Edinburgh pubs on the heritage interiors list that I haven't already done. This is a gorgeous traditional pub with red leather banquette seating and stools by the bar. Two small side rooms are in the same style. Four hand pumps with three cask beers (see photo). I went for a half of each of the Stewart 80/- and the Orkney Island Life. They were both served in glasses that hadn't cooled down from the washer (lose half a mark) and ended up respectively NBSS 2.5 and 3. As well as the beers, there's a good selection of single malts, with the malt of the month priced at £4.40 for a 35ml glass (compare central Edinburgh last night: £5.50 for 25ml). Too early in the day for me, but I was tempted.

Clive Thompson left this review about The Ormelie Bar

A friendy locals pub with comfortable seating and a lot of old photos and trophies dotted around. Seems to be a golfing theme and looks to be home of the local golf society. There are two side rooms off the main bar, one of which holds a number of books. Four real ales, £2.75 a pint, and I had a couple of decent Northumbrian Gold's. There's also an impressive whisky gantry of 50+ bottles and a Malt of the Month sells at £1.80 for a 35ml measure. Good place for a beer and a chat.
