There is cask beer here, but just one hand pump with local Pilot Stout 4%, and it was off according to the young and friendly barman. He was waiting for the owner to "fix" it, which left me with a choice of keg beers and ciders and Guinness. I went for the local Leith Juice, a 4.7% "session IPA" on keg (how long is a session if you're drinking at 4.7%?), which was just as bad as I expected. The young lad made the mistake of asking me what I thought of the beer. Like cheap fruit juice topped up with soda water and a shot of vodka poured in, I said. It's a beer for people who don't like beer. He took it in very good spirit and we parted as friends. Nice pub, by the way, if you like cocktails.
