Long thin pub with walls covered in old advertising mirrors and pictures. Board floor and a fine old ceiling, one side has exposed stone. The counter is towards the back right and has the usual kegs plus three pulls with Stewart and Inveralmond beers but the whisky range is exceptional and the staff know their stuff. It does get busy due to its location. Rear left has a raised seating area while the toilets are a bit further back and down the stairs.

The Royal Mile Tavern is found on the High Street of the Royal Mile. Those new to Edinburgh will not find the Royal Mile as a street name on any maps as it is a make-up of the following streets, Castlehill, the Lawnmarket, the High Street, the Canongate and Abbey Strand. Back to the pub. The exterior is very ornate and is coloured racing Green with gold highlights and lettering. The interior is lots of wood, plenty of pictures and mirrors of pub memorabilia, and pawn broker style overhead lighting. The pub serves a large selection of drinks including over 100 different whiskies and a selection of ever-changing craft ales. There is food available from a large selection menu that would a Wetherspoons menu look small in comparison.

Located centrally on the royal mile. A long narrow pub with quite a dark interior and a raised seating area at the rear. A mixture of brewery and Edinburgh memorabilia on the walls. 4 real ales plus keg beers and food served.
