Strange sort of place this but I guess Cocktail bar and bistro would be the nearest description I could think of. This semi circular bar with entrances at either end has a large hammered copper bar with some dark velvet tones going on at entry level and then staircases just inside each entrance lead up to a mezzanine floor above the bar area which looks like it is mainly used for dining.
We popped in late on a Friday night when it was being heavily utilised by the party crowd and the downstairs area was mainly vertical drinking.
There’s no taps on the front of the copper bar, just several drinks menus but these did reveal some draft beer available from four keg taps dotted about the bar back and one of these was dispensing a craft brew from the local 71 Brewing and then there was a decent craft beer can selection in the fridges under the bar back.
So definitely not a traditional pub, but a modern bar where my good lady enjoyed her flavoured G&T and I managed to get a couple of craft brews for a night cap. This location has gone through a lot of different guises in recent years including a Pizza restaurant, but this bar has been in situ since early 2018, so hopefully this bar may stick.
