At the base of a four-storey stone tenement stands this * CAMRA Heritage pub which is mainly of interest due to the huge and detailed set of four stained glass windows depicting Scottish countryside scenes and one of a harbour, alongside an impressive curved bar back. The main bar is a bit stark but round a strange dog-leg and up a couple of steps is a cosier lounge. No cask, so a keg McEwans 80/- was my choice of hand luggage for the duration. Less of a draw to drag you away from the town centre than Frews or Clep but worth taking-in if you have the time.
