The public bar of the Annandale Arms is in an obvious extension to the side of the main building. It can be entered from the hotel, but also has its own door. The interior is nicely done with wood panelling, and the bar counter in the far corner. As in the Stag, there are two hand pumps but no real ale available. I didn't fancy another cold, fizzy drink so went for a Bowmore from the modest selection of malt whisky. There were a dozen or so musicians, playing such traditional Scottish airs as Knocking on Heaven's Door and Blowing in the Wind. One or two of them were capable players, but I was glad I had a drink that I could drink up quickly and leave without being thought rude.
