Blue Scrumpy left this review about Black Bull Hotel
Whilst you will no longer find any real ale in Lauder, the Black Bull Hotel is one of 3 pubs that remain. It is located in the Market Place on the main road through Lauder. There is a lounge/dining room to the left and a public bar to the right, each with their own entrance, but with both rooms joined to the rear of the bar. There is also a further dining room to the rear left.
The pub is carpeted throughout. Seating in the bar was limited to a couple of large tables at the rear and a small table near the entrance door, as well as several stools against a drinking shelf opposite the bar. A few Christmas decorations were already up for my recent visit. A small TV was showing a quiz programme, whilst music was playing.
Keg options at the bar were Belhaven Best, Strongbow, Tennents Extra Cold, Guinness, Greene King Ice Breaker, Maltsmith's IPA & Stella Artois. Whilst there were no other drinkers on my midweek afternoon visit, there were a few finishing meals in the dining area. For now, the pub is open from midday daily.
A fairly uninspiring place in all but it's probably as good as the Lauder drinking scene gets.
