Blue Scrumpy left this review about White Swan Hotel

The White Swan Hotel is set back slightly from the Market Square. The public bar can be found to the right-hand side of the hotel reception area. It has a laminate floor and a real fire was going on my midweek visit. There is a dartboard adjacent to the fireplace, whilst at the opposite end of the room, a TV was showing horse racing. A second TV was off but I also spotted a jukebox.

This seems to be more of a locals' pub than the Black Bull around the corner. I was spoilt for choice between the 2 cask ales and the friendly barmaid was quite patient with me. The choice was between Loch Lomond The Gloaming & Tempest Pale Armadillo. I eventually plumped for the former, which was in excellent condition and was very enjoyable indeed. Belhaven Best was available on keg, with ciders being Strongbow & Carling Black Fruits.

A menu advertised soup of the day, Chicken Louisiana (whatever that it) and a pork burger but the clientele were all after-work drinkers.

This pub was in the Good Beer Guide until recently but has been dropped for the latest edition for some reason. I certainly couldn't find fault in the beer.

Graham Coombs left this review about White Swan Hotel

An old and rambling small town hotel off the main square. The main bar room has been tackily modernised in a mixture of styles and is quite forgettable. A big TV dominated the room, which was also pervaded by the smell of frying. That aside, it seemed friendly enough and had two handpumps serving Born Brewery Best and Loch Lomond West Highland Way. The former was well kept and nice. There is also a public bar (unmanned) with pool and darts to one side, a few tables on the pavement outside and a yard within which seemed mainly for smokers.
