David Ross left this review about Welltrees Inn
Located on a narrow, steep side street leading downhill from the main road through the village, the Welltrees could be easily missed unless you know it’s there. With a quaint traditional look, outside and in, I’d guess it was a much bigger establishment in the past, but only the small ground floor bar appears to be still in regular use. This has basic décor and a relaxed atmosphere, with two friendly white poodles roaming around among the customers and the barwoman playing cards with a group of locals, although she was quick to return to duty when required. My pint of Guinness cost me £3 and McEwan’s 60 Shilling, Carling and Tennent’s lagers and Strongbow cider are also on draught. It might not be much to look at, but I found this a very friendly and likeable pub.
